Elfenworks Foundation
In Harmony With De Marillac Academy

Our support for the younger students at De Marillac Academy is motivated by concern for their safety: that school is located in the Tenderloin, a San Francisco neighborhood where poverty and crime go hand-in-hand, and we at TEF want to help to protect kids and the heroes who literally risk their lives to educate them.

In an effort to protect students, faculty and administrators against crime, a worsening problem at the De Marillac Academy, The Elfenworks Foundation is working in harmony with administrators, faculty and Boma Systems to provide all parties with cell-phone security Push5 accounts free of charge. Participants can then use their cell phones to immediately dial for help when they feel threatened. After receiving help setting up their phones and groups, participants will be able to summon help quickly and quietly in a panic situation. Up to twelve people will be automatically dialed by the Boma system in a conference-call setting to decide how best to support the person who has asked for help. Boma is a name derived from the African barriers built from branches built to protect people from predators. The company, BomaIC, is also working on a 'win back the neighborhood' campaign to improve neighborhood safety in association with CrimeStoppers.
